1. Get Organized
One of the key aspects of doing well in online school is staying organized. Without proper organization, you may find yourself slacking off, or at a loss of what to do and where to start.
One way to stay organized is by using a planner. You can buy one for cheap at Dollarama or Walmart (just make sure to wear a mask while you go!). By using a planner, you can delegate tasks that have to be finished per day. These should be organized according to your teachers' posts on Google Classroom.
Another way to stay organized is by making to-do lists. To-do lists are highly effective due to your ability to prioritize tasks and have a written list of what you need to do. To use your list, simply work your way through it in order, dealing with the A priority tasks first, then the Bs, then the Cs, and so on.
2. Make a Routine
Establishing a routine is the most crucial part of online classes. Without one, you will have issues getting your work done. You have to delegate times for work, sleep, free time, exercise, and meals. This allows you to have productive 'blocks.' This routine will have your brain adjust to a normal schedule, making you more productive.
3. Set Goals
Setting goals is a great way to succeed in online school. Goal setting varies from person to person but can be used with planners. Delegate certain tasks and set goals for days you want them to be finished. This can also be used for goals in things you do in your free time! Want to finish that book you've been meaning to read? Set a goal of 100 pages per day!
4. Limit Time Online
Limit your time on social media!!! With online school, you will often be tempted to check your socials and scroll through tik tok. DO NOT FALL DOWN THAT RABBIT HOLE. Next thing you know, you'll end up having wasted 3 hours! Shut your phone down while you work, and turn it back on after you've finished.
5. Use All Available Resources
Get In Contact With Your Teachers! Contrary to popular belief, they DO want to help you, after all, it is their job! Take note of their office hours and send any and all questions that you have about the material to them! They're here to help. Also, take advantage of websites such as Sparknotes and study blogs to help you improve your understanding!
