5 Minute Recipes

As quarantine periods get extended longer, you may find yourself with fewer things to do. So with this blog post, you can replace your hours on TikTok to hours of baking/cooking. However these recipes are both quick and easy to do, all of them under 5 minutes.


1. Thick Strawberry Shakes


What's better than nice strawberry shakes?? Nothing really so here you can learn how to make these delicious shakes. The preparation time is around 5 minutes and creates 2

servings. Here are the ingredients you need:

  • 1/3 cup 2% milk

  • 1-1/2 cups vanilla ice cream

  • 1/2 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries

  • 1 tablespoon strawberry preserves

In a blender, combine all ingredients; cover and process until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses; serve immediately.

2. Mug Pizza


Pizza you can make in under five minutes, sign me UP! I tried it and it kinda do be tasting extremely good. Here are the steps you will need to make this lovely dish!


  1. In a microwaveable mug, combine 4 tablespoons of flour, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of baking soda.

  2. Whisk in 3 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of oil, and mix thoroughly.

  3. Add a dollop of your favorite marinara or pizza sauce.

  4. Top with some shredded cheese, pepperoni, dried herbs and any other topping you want.

  5. Microwave for 70-80 seconds—and eat up!


3. Microwave Cheesecake


Although I don't understand why everyone loves cheesecakes, I know a lot of people do so here is a quick 5-minute preparation recipe for cheesecakes. Ingredients you need

for 1 serving:

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 2 sheets graham cracker

  • 4 oz cream cheese(115 g), softened

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 3 drops vanilla extract

  • 5 fresh raspberries, for serving


Preparation

  1. Melt the butter in a small microwaveable ramekin. Tilt the ramekin to coat the sides.

  2. Crush the graham crackers into fine crumbs, then add to the ramekin with the butter and mix well. With a spoon, press the crust evenly against the bottom of the dish.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla, stirring until there are no lumps.

  4. Spread the filling on top of the graham cracker crust.

  5. Microwave for at least 4 minutes, 45 seconds at a time, at half power. Make sure the cheesecake does not bubble over the sides of the ramekin.

  6. Chill in the freezer for at least 30 minutes, until completely cool to the touch.

  7. With a knife, loosen the edges of the cheesecake, then invert onto a plate, or eat straight from the dish.

  8. Top with a few raspberries.

  9. Enjoy!

4. BBQ Chicken Nachos


The sound of this recipe sounds amazing, and guess what it takes less than 10 minutes to create. Here are the amazing ingredients for two servings and the steps to make it.

  • 1 cup rotisserie chicken(125 g), shredded

  • 3 tablespoons BBQ sauce

  • 2 large handfuls tortilla chips

  • ¼ cup pico de gallo(60 g)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese(100 g)

  • ¼ cup green onion(35 g), thinly sliced

  • guacamole, to serve

  • sour cream, to serve


Preparation

  1. Mix the chicken with the barbecue sauce, then spread evenly over a bed of tortilla chips.

  2. Spread the pico de gallo, cheese, and green onions evenly on top, then microwave for about 1-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  3. Dollop with some guacamole and sour cream, then serve.

  4. Enjoy!

5. Chicken Quesadilla


This dish will leave an amazing taste in your mouth so you definitely should try it out! For one serving, here is the steps and ingredients:

  • 2 medium flour tortillas

  • ½ cup chicken strip (60 g), or shredded chicken, cooked

  • ½ bell pepper, diced

  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning

  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese (25 g)


Preparation


  1. Microwave the tortillas on a plate until slightly crispy. They will dry out a bit as they cool.

  2. Mix the chicken, peppers, and taco seasoning in a bowl until evenly combined, then cook for about 1-2 minutes until the peppers are soft.

  3. Spread the mixture evenly on one tortilla, cover evenly with the cheese, then top with the other tortilla.

  4. Cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute, slice, then serve.

  5. Enjoy!
